Mid Summer Travels
This month allowed me the precious time to spend a few days away with my eldest son Louis in the beautiful Greek Island of Mykonos.
Mykonos is one of my favourite holiday destinations, we have always been made to feel very welcome in the island, the food is amazing, the beaches are beautiful and the boutiques are incredibly tempting as are the cocktails π
Although only a short trip, we managed to feel very rested, and even treated ourselves to a couple of well-being treatments. My favourite new places that we visited on the island were Skorpios (the food, people watching and music were fabulous) and then our last night we had the perfect meal at Hippie Fish, where we sat close to the beach and watched the sun set. I have never seen such beautiful sunsets that match those seen in Mykonos, they are simply breathtaking and I am always left in awe of what nature delivers so beautifully.
Unfortunately I did get rather nasty sunburn despite using my factor 50, and due to the winds which were deceptively cooling as well as burning too. The return flight was a quick reminder into why I took a Fear Of Flying Course many years ago and where I quickly recalled the tools taught to me during the course in order to work through the turbulence. That said, I made friends very quickly with a young lady seated on my right whose hand I unwittingly grabbed when my tummy dropped during a nasty bump in the clouds π
After the short break away, and a quick return into the office, it was time to have our Summer get together with some of the very special ladies who are part of the Facebook Page Join Clothes Ladies.
A group that I set up several years ago, and now with a membership of over 1,300, the amazing ladies share not only their love of the Collection, but so much more, where important friendships have been born and grown over the last few years. At this luncheon, our lovely Buyer from QVC, Sharon, joined us to chat to the ladies and hear what they love. We enjoyed a relaxing afternoon with delicious food and drinks at The Elysee Restaurant in Central London, a venue that we have visited before and been made to feel very welcome at. The ladies are just divine, full of laughs, many travel from far and wide to meet up.In the pic with me is the lovely Fran.
A few days after and I was back again travelling, this time to see my family in Vienna. The trip was totally different to that of Mykonos and was an emotive experience to honour my late Aunt and Grandfather, by placing memorial stones outside the family home where they were tragically taken from and subsequently killed during the Holocaust.
The ceremony did strangely bring me some closure and also gave me a feeling of peace for laying to rest some demons. The opportunity to reconnect with family members was humbling and joyful and I am grateful for the experience to have participated in the service of commemoration called Stolpersteine, alongside my cousins who had travelled from Israel, Canada and The United States to also honour our late great grandparents. I appreciated to have the support of my special husband Philip who accompanied me to Vienna.
After the trip I was back again to work and straight into the launch of our June 19th TSV (Todayβs Special Value) at QVC UK from Join Clothes, which was a beautiful layered tunic in a soft knit, offered in a choice of sumptuous Summer colours, as seen in the image and modelled by myself and the lovely Jilly Halliday. I am delighted to say that the gorgeous tunic was a sell out, yayyyy π
The day allowed the opportunity to connect again with many of our special ladies from the Join Clothes Ladies Facebook Group. I received so many lovely words of support and appreciation throughout the day which I am always incredibly grateful to receive enabling me to keep going when tiredness set in. A quick catch up with my lovely friend Renee Greenstein who was also at QVC during the day and then I went straight out for dinner with my daughter Lily and husband Philip, feeling thrilled and incredibly grateful with the success of the day.The day ended in the anticipation of a much welcome and long awaited sleep.
I am ending the month excited to start a new hobby having received an early Birthday Present from Philip: a camera π I would love to take up photography and I am keen to start snapping some special shots. Watch this space!
Thatβs it for now, back again soon to catch up with what I get up to π

June 30, 2017 - 6:44 pm ·Hi Evey,
I just wanted to say …I was in Mykonos too ,only in May this year and also went to eat at Hippie Fish where they filmed Shirley Valentine . It was fabulous and photos taken with everyone there . I also visited the “join clothes boutique ” ….very expensive . I have several pieces from QVC including the last TSV ordered orange and green but only received orange
Really disappointed not to get green , apparantly lost in post! Anyway , love your shows and join clothes but most importantly love Greece , I’m a committed 30 years + traveller there . Thank you for bringing us join
